A New New York Latino Newspaper?

With ImpreMedia's buying of Hoy, NYC readers of Spanish language news have two newspapers (the other being el Diario/La Prensa) published by the same people. 24 Horas wants to change all that.
24 Horas promises "trendy design, relevant content and excellence in distribution" the debut edition of 24 Horas is scheduled to appear near me. Why me specifically? Well according to Tricom Media, I am their target market.
"24 Horas is catered to the New Latino. An educated and hard working individual with limited time to read the news and can afford to spend an average of 20 minutes either online or reading the paper in order to be informed or entertained" Said Eddie Cruz, Publisher and Founder of Tricom Media.So why haven't I seen it in print yet?

With an "easy to read" format, modern design and aggressive content, 24 Horas will be available free of charge to a massive audience of "information driven" consumers who are educated and with solid earnings in comparison with the rest of the Hispanic population.Hmm so basically upwardly mobile Latino population? Responding to specific distribution questions I posed to 24 Horas via email, the publisher explained to me that distribution was happening in the 4 boroughs of NYC (sorry Staten Island) where commuters start their morning commute towards Manhattan. I have yet to see 24 Horas in my Latino hood either being handed out in the morning as I hop on the train or in a kiosk near me but then again I live in a very working class Latino neighborhood with many recently arrived immigrants. I guess we have to settle for Hoy (available for free on nearly every corner) and El Diario.

At least 24 Horas has the best website. By far , www.24horasweb.com the site for 24Horas News surpassed their competitors in only 4 weeks. Also, I have seen 24 horas printed version more and more lately. I live by columbus circle and I pick it up in the morning. I love it. The design and content is amazing. yes , I am a target market. yes. I believe in competition and IMPREMEDIA was a monopoly. NOT ANYMORE my Latino or pseudo Latino friends
