Happy Independence Day Venezuela

iranven.jpgToday Venezuela celebrates its independence but President Hugo Chavez sure won’t be getting a card from the U.S. First, on Monday Hugito broke ground on a joint petrochemical complex south of Tehran, Iran with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Then today Washington’s top envoy to Venezuela, Ambassador William Brownfield ended his term saying he regrets he was unable to establish a productive dialogue with President Hugo Chavez’s government. Brownfeld is moving on as ambassador to Colombia, which should be a much easier job.

Viva La Independencia Venezuelana!

It is good that President Chavez has found partners in the rest of the world who will not be so quick to take advantage of Venezuela as US companies are. From what I have observed over the years, President Chavez has tried to help the poor and less fortunate throughout the world. Why would anyone on earth try to defeat such passionate and whole hearted love for mankind? He need not fear those who only wish to subjugate all other countries.

There are those of us throughout the world who stand clearly beside President Chavez. His good effort to help all poor, not only those that have been previously oppressed in his country but everyone regardless of where they live and the politics of their countries.
