Ricky Martin gets a star

martin111606_03.jpgPop tart Ricky Martin will get a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame next year, along with a list of stars from the TV, film and recording industries. How they fit so many stars on that street each year is a mystery to me. Do they "delete" people after a while? Here's the complete list of who will be honored in 2008:

Movies: Angela Bassett, Cate Blanchett, Tim Robbins, Stan Lee, the Munchkins (from "The Wizard of Oz") and the Westmores of Hollywood, a longtime show-business makeup family.

Television: Howie Mandel, Susan St. James, Bill Geist, Kate Linder, Howie Mandel, Sherwood Schwartz, Vince McMahon and, posthumously, Brian Keith.

Recording: Brooks & Dunn, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, Red Hot Chili Peppers and, posthumously, George Harrison.

Live theater/performance: Stephen Schwartz.

"The Munchkins"? That one's been a long time in the making -- nearly 70 years. Not very PC either.
