Update : Wife of Missing Iraq Solider Will Not Be Deported

jimenez.jpgYesterday I reported on how the wife of missing Iraq soldier, Alex Jimenez, faced deportation. I a pleased to report today that late yesterday a U.S. Homeland Security Department spokeswoman said that Yaderlin Jimenez did not face deportation, that her case was closed and would remain so.

Well, this article says the case was closed SINCE May 2006. That is more than a year ago. This woman didn“t even face deportation (as announced yesterday) in the first place. I hope she gets citizenship soon, though.

That’s what the Immigration authority is saying now. What nay be the case is that her attorney may have pushed the whole thing forward more because ICE may have not been clear about the status of the case, which is pretty common.
