Michael Moore fears the government is after "Sicko"

244.moore.michael.100606.jpgMichael Moore is spooked. After receiving a friendly letter from the U.S. Department of Treasury in response to his trip to Cuba to film his latest doxposé, Sicko, Moore thinks the government might attempt to confiscate his film, so he's left a copy in Canada:

"We brought back 15 minutes of the movie and we're concerned about any possible confiscation efforts," Moore told a news conference in New York.

"We took measures a few weeks ago to place a master copy of this film in Canada so if they did take our negative we would have a duplicate negative of this film in Canada."
While I applaud Moore's work, I often think his PR machine is on overdrive, ultimately to the detriment of the messages he's trying to get across. This story seems to be yet another example of that.

This movie doesn't need this kind of hype. Neither did Bowling for Colombine or Fahrenheit 911. The content of these films is so jarring that it scandalizes us enough without all the hoopla. Unfortunately, I think that stuff like this ends up strengthening naysayers' arguments that Moore is "a kook".

To Michael Moore

Please read my comments on the site "Castro on the road to recovery? a vivirlatino"
If you think health care is not so well in US, please consider what is becoming a major catastrophic plague in US and elsewhere. The pharmaceuticals have (I believe unintentionally created a monster in the form of anti-depressants apparently meant for everyone to solve everything. Instead it is causing harm, destruction, death to so many
by a mind/body connection in the form of crohns and ulcerative colitis. Please read all my notes on the Castro info on his recovery which I had mailed to him a few weeks ago hoping to allay his illness. Also on website DoctorBrains.org there is more detail on crohns and UC under comments by Kureforcrohns. Anti-Depressants can be likened to marijuana, cocaine, etc, all stimulants and while they have some good, they have incomparable harm to innocent people. I think the pharms pay nursing homes to RX their patients with anti-depressants jeopardizing the residents not on ADs with accelerated unrelated illnesses.
I am desperate to have a ban on nursing home use of anti-depressants which are a legal license to kill by physician, psychiatris' who become legal drug pushers.
Will write more later. Am desperate for the FDA to recognize this and allow Valium to be lifted from controlled use, so ADs can be substituted by true tranquillizers which do no harm.
Please comment. Mr. Moore, I am an unexperienced person in these matters.
I am grateful for Mr. Castro's recovery, which I believe was due to the elimination of stimulant users in his presence or from afar as distance has no bearing. The persons involved can be miles and miles apart, still the damage continues. I hope Mr. Castro will remain well, as he is dependent on others for wellness. In all walks of life, seems like everyone wants to be spiked up and would not give up their stimulant. How tragic.
Will write again. Please comment if possible.
