soda%2Bstereo.jpgLast month Maegan told us about rumors that legendary Argentine rock band Soda Stereo might be reuniting, to commemorate the ten years that have passed since they split. Well, it looks like the rumor is confirmed. Venezuela’s El Universal reports that Argentine news agency Telam says that sources close to the group say they’ll be making an official announcement any day now.

…the famous trio is already rehearsing and the announcement of their return will be made at a press conference in Buenos Aires “between the 10th and the 15th of this month.”

The emblematic band, popular from the mid 80s until their breakup in 1997, “already has 12 concerts booked in Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Perú, Ecuador and Argentina, where they will play at the stadium of the soccer team, River Plate, and “perhaps in another city in the interior” of the country.

I am sad they haven’t mentioned any U.S. dates, and I’m sure peeps would come out in masses for a reunion tour. I was lucky enough to see their farewell concert in Mexico City (gulp) ten years ago, and I think a comeback is long overdue — I am getting a bit tired of the Cerati solo stuff. And with that I’ll leave you with one of my faves by Soda. Enjoy!

Tired of the Cerati solo stuff? Damn girl! You hit me right in the heart!

I hope the Soda reunion brings us new tracks as well.
