Last month Maegan told us about rumors that legendary Argentine rock band Soda Stereo might be reuniting, to commemorate the ten years that have passed since they split. Well, it looks like the rumor is confirmed. Venezuela’s El Universal reports that Argentine news agency Telam says that sources close to the group say they’ll be making an official announcement any day now.
…the famous trio is already rehearsing and the announcement of their return will be made at a press conference in Buenos Aires “between the 10th and the 15th of this month.”The emblematic band, popular from the mid 80s until their breakup in 1997, “already has 12 concerts booked in Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Perú, Ecuador and Argentina, where they will play at the stadium of the soccer team, River Plate, and “perhaps in another city in the interior” of the country.

Ay if only it were that easy, but if what Azteca America reported on their morning show today is true, you or your favorite hombre can at least dress like Ricky Martin or at least in a clothing line the Boricua superstar is slated to begin.
Hmmm I wonder what the line will be called? Something like “ay que rico” seems perfect to me.

Officials of New Haven have just made their city a little more user friendly for immigrants regardless of status. They approved a plan to offer immigrants identification cards that would let them access services that many take for granted like opening bank accounts. The plan is the first of its kind in the United States and goes against the grain of what many cities are doing to make it harder for undocumented immigrants to access basic services or even rent apartments. New Haven has about 15,000 undocumented immigrants.

Last year, Daryl Hannah was up in a tree with Joan Baez, trying to save an L.A. farm from being taken over by developers. This year, she’s got her feet on the ground in Ecuador, for yet another environmental struggle:
…Daryl Hannah traveled through the thick Ecuadorian jungle on Monday to see for herself why 30,000 villagers and indigenous people of the Amazon are suing the oil company Chevron. The oil giant faces a trial in this town, located 110 miles to the east of Quito, for supposedly failing to clean up the spill of hundreds of millions of liters of toxic water.
The inhabitants of Lago Agrio, Ecuador, are asking that Chevron pay 6 billion dollars in damages.
