antonio.jpgSpanish actor Antonio Banderas has been doing the promotion hustle and last night that brought him to Cristina Saralegui’s talk show. Banderas, who reprises his animated role of the Don Juan’esque Puss in Boots in Shrek 3, opening Friday, said last night on the popular Univision talk show that fame is the worse thing that has happened to him. Not because he doesn’t like being acknowledged for his work but because of the privacy he has lost.

Banderas recently had his second shot of working behind the camara with El Camino de los Ingleses (Summer Rain in English – don’t ask me how that translates). The film, which premiered at Sundance, has been received lukewarmly and it has yet to gain a U.S. distributor.

Antonio also stars in Bordertown, with Jennifer Lopez, set to open this summer. That film, about the unsolved murders of women in Juarez, Mexico, has earned critical acclaim for its subject matter but straight up boos for its production.
