Ex-president of Mexico aspires to World Bank

Here’s a name I hadn’t heard in a while: Ernesto Zedillo. Perhaps not the most well-known name to non-Mexicans, Zedillo was the much ridiculed PRI president that followed the infamous Carlos Salinas de Gortari, then fell off the (at least my) radar. Now it seems Zedillo wants to make a comeback in another high-profile role: president of the World Bank.
According to Milenio magazine, Zedillo will have to compete with some other very high-profile candidates, among them ex Afghan Finance Minister Ashraf Ghani and the head of the Israeli Central Bank, Stanley Fischer.
The World Bank will be looking to replace president Paul Wolfowitz, whose two-year tenure is mired in scandal over charges that he promoted and gave a hefty raise to his girlfriend, an employee of the Bank.

Zedillo se está convirtiendo en una figura fundamental para entender al México moderno.
Para mí se ha convertido en el primer presidente post-PRI.

I’m sorry but I don’t want any PRI ex-presidentes any where near the words BANK, MONEY, FUNDS, ACCOUNTS or anything of the sort. They are thieves (especially Carlos Salinas) and robbed Mexico of any chance to shed its 3rd World title. If any of the PRI thieves left the Mexican treasury alone, Mexico could be a 2nd world country on the verge of 1st world status. Instead these PRI politicians and leaders stole from the Mexican people, to line their own pockets of TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars.
There are rural villages and towns that are still waiting on the empty PRI promises to bring schools, supplies, teachers for their children. PRI politicians were in it for themselves, not the humble people of Mexico.
If anything, I would support Vicente Fox to be the next World Bank president.
