Julio Iglesias — your abuelita’s favorite singer and Enrique‘s dad — is a papá once again, at age 63:
Julio Iglesias and his longtime girlfriend, Miranda Rijnsburger, are new parents once again, after Rijnsburger gave birth to a son on Saturday.According to an update on the singer’s Web site, “Guillermo, the fifth child of Julio Iglesias and Miranda Rijnsburger,” arrived May 5 at 6:12 p.m. in Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Fla.
He weighed 8 lbs. 7oz. and measured 21″ long. “The childbirth was natural, and was assisted by Doctor Rebeca Martinez and pediatrician Tony Adams,” says the message, which adds, “Both the baby and the mother are fine and in perfect health.”
Julio is apparently following in the illustrious footsteps of his dad, who fathered a child with a young American woman at age 90 and promptly kicked the bucket before the kid was even born.

I didn’t know what category to file this post under, as we don’t have one for “idiocy” (though we should), so I just filed it under “controversy”, which if this case isn’t, it should be. From ThinkProgress:
An article in the Spanish-language newspaper El Diario La Prensa today notes that the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) has accepted CNN host Lou Dobbs as a national lifetime member. A lifetime membership costs $1,000; Dobbs donated $5,000. NAHJ president Rafael Olmeda tried to justify Dobbs’s membership:“We cannot pretend that illegal immigration is not part of the story. Lou Dobbs, in my opinion, tells this story in an incomplete, not constructive, way. But he has the right to disagree with me,” reaffirmed Olmeda in writing after a 36-minute conversation on Friday afternoon. (trans.)

Despite the controversy about where he would shoot photographs of thousands of nude Mexicans, U.S. photographer Spencer Tunick went ahead and held his largest photo session yet this past Sunday, where he photographed a record number of 18,000 people in the Zocalo. This was followed by a smaller shoot on Monday in Coyoacan, in the home of artist Frida Kahlo. The smaller session involved 105 specially selected female participants from Sunday’s shoot. The women were chosen because of their long dark hair, which was braided a la Frida for the naked pics.
