XXX Mexican Cab Ride

Mexican%20taxi.jpgI thought that taking a taxi in NYC was an adventure until I read about what one woman in TapaChula, Mexico dealt with in her cab ride.

The men were arrested Friday after receiving a complaint from a woman who said she was traveling in a taxi with her 6-year-old son when the driver put on a pornographic film, Tapachula police spokesman Gerardo Ramirez said.
“I asked the taxi to remove the film and he ignored me. It really bothered me and I asked to get out and went to file a complaint,” Edelma Gonzales said.

First off isn’t it unsafe to watch any film while driving a taxi? And wouldn’t porno be even more of a distraction. What exactly was this driver thinking showing porn with a child in the cab. No wonder local officials are considering charging the driver with child sexual molestation.

From bad to worse at Guantanamo

medium_300px-guantanamo-dog.jpgNobody ever said that Guantanamo Bay detention center was a picnic. But it seems that conditions at the already problematic center — plagued by accusations of torture and other abuses — are becoming even worse, according to Amnesty International:

The group said the facility had “created even harsher and apparently more permanent conditions of extreme isolation and sensory deprivation”.

It said the detainees were reportedly confined to windowless cells for 22 hours a day, only allowed to exercise at night and could go for days without seeing daylight.

Amnesty International is calling for Guantanamo to be closed and for all trials of prisoners to be halted. That’s highly unlikely; pressure from AI doesn’t ever amount to much. But it does make me wonder what will happen when a new administration takes office. Could a Democratic president (god-willing) turn a blind eye to such a heinous situation?

Evo overworked

1:19 pm By Jennifer Woodard Maderazo · Bolivia|Health|Politics · Comments Off

20051217173015-evo.jpgBolivian president Evo Morales has been burning the candle at both ends. Venezuela’s El Universal reports that the president’s typical day starts at 5:00 a.m. and ends at 11:00 p.m., with only a couple of cat naps in between meetings.

That’s why Evo is going to have a complete medical examination to make sure everything is in order and that his crazy work schedule isn’t affecting his health in any significant way. According to government spokespeople, the results of the exam will affect his schedule if it’s found that his health is compromised.

Maybe Evo should take a cue from our own president, known for his love of extended vacations and frequent revitalizing naps.

Ricky’s Not Talking But He Supports Others Outing

While speculation continues about his own sexual orientation ( I mean really though when you’re that hot does it really matter), Ricky Martin is throwing his support behind other Latino musicians who choose to disclose their sexual preferences, specifically Christian of RBD.

“Life is too short to live closed up, guarding what you say,” said Martin _ whose sexual orientation has been the subject of speculation _ in an interview with The Associated Press. Christian “has to be free in many aspects. I wish him much strength.”

Who ever is sleeping in Ricky’s bed is one lucky person. I mean just look at him move.

Anti-Christ Not Welcome in Central America

11:20 am By Jennifer Woodard Maderazo · Latin America|Religion · Comments Off

5 Apr 2007

dejesus.jpgEarlier this month Jennifer told you that Christ/Antichrist rolled into one Puerto Rican package was living in Houston. Many a Central American country want him to stay there. Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda self-proclaimed savior has already stopped in Guatemala last weekend and wanted to continue on his holy week tour in other Central American nations. Honduras and El Salvador officially banned De Jesus’s entry and now Nicaragua wants to do the same.

The archbishop of Managua and the president of the Evangelical Alliance of Nicaragua have urged immigration authorities to deny entrance to Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda, who heads the controversial Growing in Grace church.

Not for nothing, but imagine if every Puerto Rican named Jesus thought he was the Jesus? In my family alone I’d have two saviors. What is really scary is the number of followers this man continues to gain.
