We all know that Shakira has made money off of singing in English but more and more companies around the globe including the U.S. are realizing that Spanish is where its at. Spanish is being pushed as a language important in the world of finance for example. Maybe that’s why according to an Univision.com article, around 60% of students opt to study Castellano.
Of course one also must factor in, like it or not, the number of Spanish dominant Latinos here in the United States and where there are people there is money to take from them and what better way to do it than in their native language. Online, for example, Spanish is the third most used language, after English and French.
Having worked in the investment banking world a few years back I can tell you from experience that the number of Spanish speaking personnel falls far behind the needs of companies for numerous reasons- so bilingual Latinos- get your hustle on. As more and more U.S. based companies seek to do business in Latin America and with Latinos there and here, they are gonna need us.
