immigration.jpgSeems like Mexican Presidente Felipe Calderon is getting just as tired of waiting for U.S. immigration “reform” like the rest of us. So much so, that he’s decided to push his own immigration plan and just in time to show it off for an upcoming visit by President Bush.

Calderon’s migration agency announced the first phase Tuesday, pledging improvements to 48 detention centers in response to criticism that illegal Central American migrants are denied the respect Mexico demands for its citizens in the U.S.

TIMBIRICHE1.jpgIt seems that the best time for a pop group to make a comeback is about 20 years after their peak, when their original followers are adults and can now see them as something nostalgic from their youth, and not the banal pre-fab product machine that they were. Timbiriche, Mexico’s most popular 80s pop group made up of kids — which spawned the careers of Paulina Rubio, Thalia and other less illustrious members — is back and reuniting for a tour. And even Thalia is down for it.

After making a few adjustments in her calendar, Thalia will participate in the reunion of the ex-members of, the band with which she took her first baby steps in the music industry and this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Kind makes you feel old, huh?

Freehold_NJ.gifSomething in New Jersey stinks and it ain’t garbage. It’s the words of Freehold Councilman Marc LeVine.

In the web site of PEOPLE (Pressing Elected Officials to Preserve Our Living Environment), Councilman Mark LeVine wrote that there, “a very promiscuous flavor” in parts of the Hispanic community, the Asbury Park Press reported.
LeVine went on to say that some of “these people” often expect the state to subsidize their mistakes when they have large families that they can’t afford to support.
