Paulina gets dissed by Spanish justice

Back in December we told you that Paulina Rubio was in hot water with the Mexican IRS for not paying her taxes (public service announcement: have you done your taxes yet?) and it looks like she thought she found a way to pay off some of that debt: by suing people.
Spain's El Semanal Digital reports that Pau, along with Spanish star attorney Javier Saavedra (known for representing celebs and was even called on by Saddam Hussein for his defense), was out to sue her ex-assistant and some tabloids for "deshonra" -- something which I guess can be closely translated as slander. Pau and attorney were asking for 600,000 euros and a gag order on the offending parties because of:
...three statements that bothered the Mexican celebrity terribly: the first makes a reference to her "homosexual inclinations", the second is around accusations that she "induced Ricardo Bofill [Paulina's ex] to consume drugs, and the third that she was physically abusive to her ex-boyfriend.
Celeb attorney and all, the judge was not having it. It's quite a complex situation, but the breakdown was basically this: Paulina got shot down on every count. The judge said that she had no basis for complaining about the accusations of being a lesbian "because it's an issue that is no longer a part of her private life...since those rumors have existed in Latin America for years."
Wait, there's more. The judge basically said she had no leg to stand on regarding the lesbian rumors because
"being gay in today's world should not be considered 'dishonorable' and the artist herself (Paulina Rubio) has unspokenly consented to this type of polemic about her sexual tastes and has even gone so far as to 'play that up' for promotional reasons."
Before denying Pau's petition, the judge took a moment to issue one last blow to:
"...the incomprehensible attitude of the artist (Paulina) in spite of the fact that she considers the statements made to affect her rights to serious issues such as honor and privacy, linked to something so invaluable as honor and dignity of a human being, that she show such laziness so as to not show up on the day of the trial and thus impede being able to clarify on her part such a vague and generic claim like the one in this case."
La jueza doesn't play around. Caso cerrado!
