colocolo.gifMany Latinas were watching Premio Lo Nuestro last night but not this Latina. Last night I settled with a glass of wine as the only woman in a room full of screaming male futbol fanatics to watch Colo Colo vs River Plate in the Copa Libertadores. The campeones de Chile, Colo Colo, were beat 2-1 by Argentina’s River Plate. The first goal via River’s Leonardo Ponzio came right as half-time began. The goal was protested by many of Colo’s players who say the whistle to restart play was never blown (I sure didn’t see or hear it blow). The second River goal came via Ernesto Farias in the second half of the game.

Colo’s only goal came via Humberto Suazo aka Chupete(can someone tell me why they call him this?).

The game was a tense one with both teams losing players.

Both teams finished the match with 10 players after River’s Radamel Falcao and Colo Colo’s Luis Mena were ejected for foul play.

You know Mala was sad because I’m a Colo fan.

In other Copa Liberatdores news Caracas of Venezuela edged Liga de Quito of Ecuador 1-0.
