Immigrants mistreated at detention centers

Ah, detention centers. Many will have you believe that immigrants who are caught coming into the country without papers are housed, fed, clothed, given great medical attention and sent safely back to their homelands. In fact, that does happen in some countries, or, better still, they are invited to stay. Here, however, we do things a little differently:
Migrants confined to detention centers run by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are subject to abuses that range from denying speedy medical attention to being served raw meat as a meal.
A report published here [in Washington] reveals these findings, and also found that on many occasions administrative authorities in these prisons refused to justify the disciplinary actions taken with the immigrants, placing them in cells with highly dangerous prisoners.Wait, that happens in the good ol' U-S-of-A? Impossible.
No, it's for real. At least if you believe what the Department of Homeland Security has to say, since its their report.
The findings were a result of a study done of detention centers in Leesport, Pennsylvania; San Diego, California; Kearny and Patterson, New Jersey and Miami, Florida.

Crossing into a country without a passport or documentation is illegal, especially sneaking through the mexican/us border is breaking the law. When you go to jail for breaking the law, do you really expect a steak dinner, and champagne as though you were in a five-star hotel? Please get focused on reality, if you break the law, you go to jail, and jail is not a nice place to be no matter what your excuse might be. Duh!!! T.G.

Duhhhhhhhhhh! It doesn't matter they are just people that are just looking for a better life and that is not illegal, IS IT???????? And can't they just send them back to their country like they were doiing before? They don't expect to be treated like if they were in a five star hotel but they do expect to be treated like HUMANS.
