Legendary futbolista Diego Maradona is anything shy about his opinion. True to form, La mano de Dios is telling it like it is with respect to his opinion on Dubya’s twins sporting the jersey of the Boca Juniors, his beloved team:
Diego Maradona said Thursday that he’s a “a little distant” with the Boca Juniors team and criticized its president, Mauricio Macri, “because he put the shirt” of the Argentine team “on the daughters” of the U.S. head of state, George W. Bush.“I’ve distanced myself from them. There are things I didn’t like and I say so,” said the star.
Maradona questions the welcome that Macri gave the twins, Barbara and Jenna Bush, who went to Boca’s stadium in November to see a local team play, and were photographed with the gold and blue shirt.
To add insult to injury, the twins were seated in Macri’s box during the game, and just a couple of yards away from Maradona who, according the 20 Minutos, was sporting a hat worn by his homey, Fidel Castro.

Last night I went to a Mexican bakery in SF’s Mission District and the lady at the counter asked us if we wanted to put in an order for a Rosca de Reyes. This is how they do it in Mexico, but I guess not everyone has the luxury of having a Mexican panadería close by — and Mexican immigrant dollars must be earned — so enter the pre-fab Rosca de Reyes, made by Bimbo and coming to a grocery store near you:
Children in Mexico, Spain and some parts of Latin America celebrate Three Kings Day on January 6. The day commemorates the three kings who, according to the Bible, followed the star of Bethlehem to bring gifts to the baby Jesus. As a result, the holiday treat, Rosca de Reyes, is a sweet bread made in the shape of a crown. Holding true to tradition, Bimbo’s version of this Christmas dessert is adorned with jewel-like candied fruits. In addition, a small baby Jesus is placed within the packaging. Consumers traditionally hide the toy inside the bread for a guest to find. The lucky person is then responsible for throwing a party on February 2 to mark the official end of the Christmas season.

With her recovery from breast cancer in full swing, Puerto Rican actress Adamari Lopez and hubby, singer Luis Fonsi have just purchased a “love nest”, an apartment in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
“Tengo familiares aquí (en la República Dominicana) por parte de mi abuela. Es un hermoso lugar para cuando uno quiere escaparse del mundo”, dijo Fonsi durante la presentación de las nuevas viviendas del proyecto de Los Altos de Casa de Campo.
The talk is that the couple, who married in June of last year, are trying to start a family. What better place to get down to business than in an apartment that averages between $400,000 $1.3 millon?

We are what, four days into 2007 and already the Boricua crooner and humanitarian is hard at work. According to a press release sent to my inbox yesterday afternoon, Ricky Martin has the #1 song on the Billboard “Hot Latin Songs”chart. Tu Recuerdo, the first released single from his latest album, MTV Unplugged, has been #1 for three straight weeks now.
Felicidades Ricky! I must say that I am please to see Ricky get back to his musical roots instead of trying to act hardcore and play into the reggaeton craze.
