I take issue with the comparison of work-place raids on illegal immigrants with Hitler’s roundup and persecution of the Jews. The Germans’ rounded up Jews and other persecuted minorities, not to deport them, but to remove them from society and ultimately exterminate them in concentration camps. What information does the author have that I don’t have that proves or even suggests that the US is implementing a similar policy against illegal immigrants? If the only common thread is that both the US and Nazi Germany have arrested people, therefore they’re the same, then this whole world is a Hitler world.

And as for discriminating against brown faces, what would the author have the US do when certain industries such as construction, meat-packing, and landscaping are well-known to favor illegal immigrants as the most easily exploited due to their illegal status? Should we limit roundups of illegals strictly to those who appear white and give immunity to Asians, Hispanics, and Africans?

The author asks: “Who will be next?” It certainly won’t be African-Americans who have been left in the dust by illegal immigration. For instance not so long ago all the downtown Los Angeles buildings were cleaned by African-American janitors. As far as I know every one of these jobs has been converted to immigrant jobs and the African-Americans are out on the street.

To date the debate on illegal immigration has centered on the right or wrong of current US immigration policy. But what we NEVER hear is what policy the pro-illegal side would offer as a replacement. They don’t want border obstructions and they don’t want illegals pursued, captured, and deported. Then does the other side advocate removal of all fences, border crossings and barriers? Should US Customs stop checking documents at airports and other points of entry? Should there be any annual cap on immigration? Experts believe at any given time there are some 50 million persons ready and eager to immigrate here. Is there any maximum population size the US should be looking at, or should we just stuff people in here till it’s so crowded no one else wants to come. And finally, should all nations (including Mexico) be obligated to follow such a policy, or is our country the only one?

As a Latina, who had family members who were Holocaust survivors, I take great offense in the writers who compare the arrest and capture of criminal illegal aliens with the tactics used by Hitler against millions of innocent, law-abiding Jews. What's wrong with you people? Have you no shame?

PLEASE, illegal aliens are not "victims" here except of their own government's failure to support their underclass and their own decisions to violate our nation's laws. It's time Latinos here illegally do the honorable thing and go back and protest to their own countries of origin and make social changes there. Do the right thing.

No reason....they came into this country illegally! Everyone seems to forget that they broke the law.

Just read this. Wow! Hitler huh? Then where are the concentration camps that are exterminating all these latinos? These groups are way off track! We just want our country back and illegals to stop taking our jobs and sucking our welfare systems dry! By the way, according to ICE, Mexicans aren't the only illegals that are being deported - several countries are represented. You should to their website - www.ice.gov - and see the long list of some really bad criminals who are also a part of this mix.
