Last week, pop star Alejandro Sanz admitted that he has a son born outside of his marriage to Mexican model, Jaydi Mitchell, causing gossip rags in Latin America and Spain to go wild. Apparently, Sanz decided to come forward with the news himself after he learned that his ex butler was about to leak the story to press for financial gain. Now, both the butler and his wife have been arrested and accused of extortion in Miami:
Miami police have arrested two people that apparently have tried to extort Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz. The suspects detained are the singer’s butler and his wife. They are accused of extortion and theft.
The presumed extortionists supposedly threatened to sell the story of the singer’s secret son, fruit of an extramarital relationship.
As for the secret child, no one knows who the mother is, though Spanish television speculates that she is a Puerto Rican makeup artist, while Sanz himself maintains that she is a woman who is completely outside of the entertainment industry and the public eye, and wishes to stay that way.

In an interview posted now on Univision.com, Beyonce talks about feeling close to Latina culture, in part thanks to her upbringing in Houston, Texas. She’s trying to do a reverse cross-over and recording in Spanish because she thinks that Spanish is a “sexy” language (and no doubt because she thinks Latino money is sexy too). She admits to being a fan of fellow Texan Selena and Shakira, whom she worked with on the single “Beautiful Liar”.

18 Dec 2006The Latin Lover stereotype isn’t just for men and now a new study is being presented to prove it. According to the study which looked at the sexual habits of women in 12 countries across 3 continents, more than half of Mexican, Brazilian, and Venezuelan women said they wanted a better and more frequest sex life. The other countries in the study were France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. The study was presented in Mexico City by the big pharma company Bayer, who no doubt will now be marketing some sort of sexual aid in Spanish.
