Lethal injection of Latino tortuous, not instantaneous

Death by lethal injection is supposed to be one of most "painless" methods of execution of prisoners condemned to this fate. But this apparently was not the case in the execution of Ángel Nieves Díaz, a Latino prisoner in Florida. It took two injections to kill him and witnesses claim that his death was anything but painless:
The execution yesterday of Puerto Rican Angel Nieves Díaz has revived controversy over the use of lethal injection as a method of execution for prisoners in the state of Florida, as the the prisoner needed two doses of the lethal cocktail, which prolonged his agony for a full 34 minutes.Nieves Díaz, sentenced to death for a 1979 murder, took 34 minutes to die because, according to the state's prison department, he suffered a kidney condition that impeded his body from metabolizing chemical subtances quickly.
Not true, says Nieves Diaz's family members:
"To say that he didn't suffer at all is a lie on the part of prison authorities. They injected him and he was suffering for 34 minutes when he was supposed to die immediately," said María Magdalena Otero Díaz, the prisoners cousin.According to the cousin, she witnessed how the prisoner "started moving his eyes up and down. His chest was shaking... suffering, he was suffering a lot."

First, I would like to say that Nieves Díaz's kind of death is unacceptable. As by the Geneva convention, we are not to torture people.
Second, lethal injection, well done or not, cost a bundle in medication, doctors and nurses and it is not even proven if it is painless or not. Same thing with gas chamber and electricity (with those two, though, we had a rough idea by seeing the prisoner's writhing). As for hanging and decapitation...ask yourself why it was abandoned for lethal injection.
Third, what is the use of a death penalty anyway? To have less criminality? Amnesty International has made an interesting study showing that death penalty did not lower the criminality; there is in fact more crime in the countries that still have it than in the countries where it was banned. To make the criminal suffer? As any suicide bomber will tell you, death is by far less suffering that prison. Freedom or death, but please no cell. This may explain that.
Therefore, to really punish the criminals, we should sentence them to life. And for those who complain that criminals have it too easy in prison, just remove the TV screens, computers and May Wests and have them purge their FULL sentence. Too much evasions? Close those loopholes of a private prisons! Too expensive? Make prisoners work inside the walls! Teach them a job if necessary. It might even help them into becoming good citizens, thus lowering crime! Isn't that the goal?

I just think it is stupid, when someone says that killing a killer should be done in a human way like lethal injection, I just think it is bull****.
Lethal injection is not a painless way, the witness of the execution may think that the criminal is at peace since he doesn't move or express pain but the guy is suffuring because he can't express pain for god's sake. Just imagine that your lungs are on fire and you can't do nothing about it except watch the person who put that needle on your arm. Do you think it is normal.
Criminals on a death row think they will die painlessly so they won't regret the crimes they did. They will eat a delicious last meal and then be prepared to die. I don't think they gave the victims a last meal. What's the point about treating then right then.
And what do you think that guy is thinking about when he find out it isn't painless like they thought. Well I don't think he is thinking about the people who died because of him. Well no he is thinking about his sorry ass. If he was on prison, he would at least think about his vitims and live knowing he would never be a free man again. He will know his fate is to die is that prison.
For Àngel Dìaz case, since they didn't inject it in his veins you just almost see the guy's pain. What's the use of that! This just proved it is painfull but those idiots keeps thinking it is human. Killing a human is unhuman, kiling a human for killing a human is also unhuman and denied it is even worst.
Lethal Injection is just like gas chamber or death by burning expect the viewers won't think of themself like monsters. They will just watch as we put an end to a person life thinking it was the best thing to do.

It is sad to think that the USA is the only major country in world, I am sorry Russia and China don't count, that still carries out capital punishment. Regardless of the method, killing another human being, is not punishment, it's vengeance pure and simple.
