guacamole1.jpgI never buy prefab guacamole (and most of my friends will say it’s annoying that I don’t buy pre-fab anything) and I’m glad I don’t. The ladies over at Racialious point us towards a post that reveals what is actually in a tub of Kraft guacamole, and it ain’t pretty, folks. Original clip from Chow.com:

No wonder store-bought guacamole tastes like glue: It is glue! OK, not really, but it certainly isn’t real avocados, either. As Los Angeles resident Brenda Lifsey discovered, the green glop sold by Kraft Foods is primarily composed of staggering amounts of coconut and soybean oils, corn syrup, modified food starch, and food coloring, with a minuscule amount of avocado thrown in.

Adultery.jpgThe Mexican Catholic church is criticizing the Northern state of Chihuahua’s decision to eliminate adultery from its list of punishable crimes in its “Reforma Penal“:

For Bishop Renato Ascencio León, this change “is yet another manifestation that we are straying off the path” and said that “the only thing that this will cause is, if authority does not intervene, that victims take justice into their own hands.”

Personally, I had no idea that adultery was a punishable crime in Mexico. And people will take justice into their own hands whether “authorities” do or not.

Chihuahua’s penal reform, introduced in November, added child pornography and sex tourism to its list of punishable crimes, but eliminated adultery. Sounds like a decent trade-off to me.

Chihuahua’s Attorney General states that adultery was eliminated because it’s “seldom reported” while the church calls it a “serious sin” that should be “punished by the laws of men”.

planb_contraception050328.jpgNo it’s not the latest VL giveaway, it’s the latest Planned Parenthood givaeaway. Today is Free EC Day. Across the United States, 350 different Planned Parenthood health centers are playing Santa Claus, giving away Plan B to men and women, regardless of age, while supplies last. In August the FDA approved the so called morning after pill without a ’script for women 18 and older but because Planned Parenthood is medically staffed, those younger will be able to access it.

“Emergency contraception is your second chance to prevent pregnancy if the condom breaks, you miss two or more birth control pills, have been raped or have unprotected sex,” Dr. Vanessa Cullins, vice president for medical affairs at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in a Planned Parenthood press release. “Every woman deserves every chance to prevent unintended pregnancy.”
