Houston Hate Crime Against Latino On Trial

Those who say racism is dead need to look to Houston, Texas and the trial that began yesterday against 18 year old David Henry Tuck, a white skinhead accused of beating and sexually assaulting a 17 year old Latino because the Latino tried to kiss a white girl.

Prosecutor Mike Trent told the jury a girl said that the Latino teen tried to kiss her at a party in the Houston suburb of Spring and that the girl's brother hit him, Trent said.

"Then Mr. Tuck decided to take matters into his own hands and teach (the victim to) never do that again," Trent said.

Trent told jurors Tuck kicked the victim with steel-toed boots.

Tuck then sodomized him with part of a patio umbrella as he "lay naked and bleeding in the backyard," said Trent, who showed the jury the pipe while questioning a witness. Tuck also tried to slash something into the victim's chest, burned him with cigarettes and doused him with bleach, Trent said.

A second teenager, 17 year old Keith Robert Turner, is to be tried next month on the same charge. If convicted, they would each face five years to life in prison.

I find this offensive because it seems you're classifying skinheads as racists. If you'd research what a skinhead is you'd find that they're a scene originating from the mod scene and have heavy roots in jamaican reggae. It's a working class group not a racist one. The racist "skinheads" you see so often are actually called bonheads by real skinheads and groups like S.H.A.R.P. (skinheads against racial prejudice) are actually militarily against these racist boneheads. It's your media portrayal of skinheads like this that gives the working class scene of skinheads a bad name.
