As we sat downstairs in her Los Angeles home, upcoming Advocate cover girl Kristanna Loken—the smoldering star of Terminator 3—found an adorable way of letting us know that she’s involved with her equally sexy BloodRayne costar Michelle Rodriguez. At first Loken, 27—who has a recurring role as lover of Shane (Katherine Moennig) on Showtime’s The L Word this season—affirmed that she’s in a relationship but wouldn’t specify the name or gender.

Then we mentioned the tantalizing stories Loken has told in past interviews about getting tight with Rodriguez when they filmed BloodRayne in Romania. Here’s what happened next.

What about all the stuff that was said about you and Michelle on the shoot?
[Laughs, then takes a deep breath] There is the $64,000 question. Um…I don’t even know how to answer that.

It seems like you both had a lot of fun partying.
Uh-huh. [Smiles, doesn’t say anything]

OK, your silence says volumes.
[Both laugh]
Just don’t look upstairs, OK?

Ooh, OK. You don’t want me to print that?

You can print it. [Laughs again] The very hot housekeeper. No, just joking.

Hmm…hopefully having a gf will help keep Michelle out of jail.

princessmaria.jpgWhen author Ruben Soto realized that there wasn’t a fairy tale written featuring a Latina princess, he decided to write one himself.

I wrote LA PRINCESA MARIA/PRINCESS MARIA as a tribute to my Hispanic heritage,” said the author. “Celebrating quinceañeras is unique to our culture, and I felt there needed to be a Hispanic princess representing the beauty of our young women.” Another motivating reason is the author’s desire to be a pioneer in creating and writing books with Latino themes.

Immigration lends database to local police

fingerprint.gifThe Department of Homeland Security is supplying some local police forces in California with access to a database of fingerprints of immigrants who have been deported back to their countries of origin, in an effort to identify whether individuals are undocumented when they are detained by authorities:

The U.S. government intends to make information available to all local law enforcement agencies in the nation within two years to help catch criminal immigrants, people with ties to terrorist groups, and others who pose a threat.

“We need more people on the ground with information who can act,” said Robert Mocny, acting director of the Home Security visitor-technology program.

Meanwhile, immigrants rights groups like MALDEF worry that this initiative may lead to law enforcement detaining people just to check their legal status.

In Los Angeles County, Bryant said there is no indication officers have arrested people just to check their immigration status. “We’ve got better things to do,” he said.

I can’t help but be reminded of this Houston proposal.

texas.gifThose who say racism is dead need to look to Houston, Texas and the trial that began yesterday against 18 year old David Henry Tuck, a white skinhead accused of beating and sexually assaulting a 17 year old Latino because the Latino tried to kiss a white girl.

Prosecutor Mike Trent told the jury a girl said that the Latino teen tried to kiss her at a party in the Houston suburb of Spring and that the girl’s brother hit him, Trent said.

“Then Mr. Tuck decided to take matters into his own hands and teach (the victim to) never do that again,” Trent said.
