Calle13%20002.jpgPuerto Rico continued to represent in the Latin Grammy winner’s circle with Calle 13 sweeping every catagory they were nominated in. Catalina Sandino Moreno from Maria Full of Grace and John Leguizamo presented Calle 13 with the Latin Grammy for Best Short Form Video for Atrevete-te te. Julieta Venegas, who won in the pre-telecast for best Alternative album, presented along with Sin Bandera, Calle 13’s second win for Best New Artist. The press room broke into applause, meaning most felt that Calle 13 deserved this honor.

Calle 13’s third win came from fellow winners Gilberto Santa Rosa and Andy Montanez for Best Urban Album. Calle 13 was pleased as could be about winning and want to throw a party in la Perla to celebrate.

But not everyone was so happy about Calle 13’s win. Other reggaeton artistas, including other Boricuas had no problem expressing their displeasure. One of those was Ivy Queen. She said it was shame that the the night seemed to be dedicated to Calle 13 but hoped that the win would push other reggaeton artists to work that much harder.
