25 Oct 2006That’s right, Mala warned you months ago that this was coming. Now the moment is finally here: the premiere of RBD’s first English language song entitled (paradoxically) Tu amor. Check it out and give us your thoughts, because we’ll be holding our mean little tongues:
According to the intro on this video, the English album comes out in December.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is in Madrid this week attending an anti-terrorism work group, and had a few things to say about the United States’ image in Europe and what needs to be done about it.
He blamed the country’s deteriorating image on misunderstanding in Europe about what the U.S. is doing to fight terrorism.“Part of the misunderstanding is the fault of the United States in the sense that we need to be out there more, talking about what we are doing and why,” he said.
Gonzales is talking about the U.S.’s “anti-terrorism actions” in Iraq and in other parts of the world, and how the country’s respect for rule of law is often questioned.
“The notion that the United States does not fully support the rule of law is one I find very disappointing,” Gonzales told reporters, especially given that President Bush “believes the Unites States is the leader, is a beacon of hope in the world and it’s important that our actions should reflect a total commitment to the rule of law.”
What I find disappointing is that this man is no more than a puppet for W and is spreading the same old line of “you just don’t understand us” in Europe, a place where people understand exactly what we are doing. That’s why they hate us. Saying “we know you hate us, and this is why…” isn’t going to help matters but hey, who needs allies, right?

The world’s smallest man according to the 1990 Guiness Book of World’s Records passed away in New York this past Sunday. 39 year old Dominicano Nelson De la Rosa was an actor who appeared in films as Dr. Moreau’s Island with Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer in 1997 and in a video for A mover el coolo by Illya Kuriaky & the Valderramas. The 54 centimeter tall man had recently been on tour with a circus in Chile and leaves behind a 9 year old son, 5 brothers, and his mom.

I confess. I watch Spanish language novelas with all their stereotypes and overacting. I hide my addiction by saying I’m taping the show for my mom, but really watching a novela is like having a secret love affair. It’s dirty, short-lived, and with a predictable ending. Last night, the finale of Telemundo’s Tierra de Pasiones, delivered on all fronts. If you didn’t get to watch the final episode don’t keep reading. There are spoilers ahead.Marcia, the slutty blonde gold-digger dies(or does she?) a fiery, bloody boat crash death and Valeria, played by the heavily siliconed Gabriela Spanic, ends up walking down the aisle in a red dress to marry Francisco, played by the very sexy Saul Lisazo. At the wedding Valeria’s gay son takes his lover’s hand, the most intimate two men are allowed to get on Spanish network television, and seems not to be bothered by the fact that he can’t get married because of his sexual orientation.
