The California city of Escondido is following the lead of other cities across the country by passing its own laws targetting the undocumented immigrant community. On Wednesday night the City Council of Escondido voted 3-2 in favor of an ordinance that requires landlords to submit documentation of their tenants’ immigration status to the city, which would then be passed on to the federal government for verification. If renters are found to be undocumented landlords would have 10 days to evict the tenants or risk losing their licenses.
Whatever happened to the human right of having a place to live. I really hope that some legal organization will challenge this ordinance because what will happen is that landlords will just not rent to Latinos at all, not wanting to deal with the hassle of proving residency status, making this law essentially racist.

That’s already happening. The ACLU is already involved and so are other groups. This is in my own backyard but I haven’t heard anything new since this past last week.

Finally another city who is putting the safety, health and welfare of its law-abiding citizens and legal residents above those of the illegal aliens, their employers, their landlords and all the other profiteers of illegal immigration. We are taking back our cities and towns one at a time. Come here legally or you are no longer welcome.
