Do you know how many mexican american men (especially in the age range of 14-28 yrs) use the term N to describe themselves or other people. Now all of a sudden just b/c a latino superstar uses that phrase and its being aired all over the country…NOW its such a huge issue!!! PlEASE!!! He’s a singer not a saint! I agree with Gloria- it is a whole bunch of bruhaha over pretty much nothing. And yes, the term “nigga” is commonly used in barrios/low income areas by all types of people- here Asian/Mexican-Americans use it as well. I don’t see anything wrong with it, at least here in CA they have been a part of the Hip-Hop community since before it became commercial, and the two groups have lived amongst each other with both positive/negative relations. I’m sure its similar in Texas…

It’s a misunderstanding and misinterpretation of sarcasm/sub-cultures IMO. I say “you damn Mexican” all of the time to mock people…or in Spanish “pinches mexicanos.”
