Morning After Pill Available in Chile

President of Chile and pediatrician, Michelle Bachelet, made a the groundbreaking decision to have birth control pills, including the morning after pill, available for free for all women over age 14 in public health clinics across the southern cone nation. The morning after pill was available in private pharmacies prior to this only for rape victims. Parental consent will not be needed for minors to gain access to the pills.
This is good news for Chilean women because it allows them more control over their reproductive health. In Chile abortion is illegal.
Compare this new progressive plan to the U.S.'s own which soon will have the morning after pill available over the counter, for a fee to adult women.
