VL Gets a Shot of Testosterone

08:15 H | Topics: VivirLatino

amaury.JPGIt's usually all girl action here at VL but with my partner in crime Jenn taking some well earned time off, we called in the boys, well two very specific males, because it takes two males to take the place of one fabulous Jennifer.

We at VL are excited to welcome guest bloggers Amaury Nora and Marco Fernando Navarro.

Amaury authors of one of my favorite blogs, Para Justicia y Libertad!. Here's the scoop on the latest member of the VL familia:

Amaury is the author of Para Justicia and Libertad under the name XicanoPwr. He has a genuine care for la raza and values reporting about the events that generally effects the Hispanic community.

Armed with Masters degree in Social Work, he has worked in social
service agencies (both government and nonprofit) for several years
dealing with community development until the funds have dried up.
He now works as an independent grant writer.

Amaury currently lives in Texas. In addition to Para Justicia and
Libertad, you can find him participating throughout the political
blogosphere. More insight to his passion to la raza can be found here: http://soapblox.net/texaskos/showDiary.do?diaryId=438

mfn.JPGI have the pleasure of knowing Marco Fernando Navarro personally and when he's not offending my politics , he's doing some amazing writing.
Marco Fernando Navarro is a first generation american whose parents arrived from Peru in the 60s. Born and raised in Flushing, Queens, New York, he received his BA in English from Queens College in 2000. A 2002 New York Times Foundation Fellow, he graduated with an MFA from New York University's Creative Writing program in 2004. A former public middle school teacher, currently, he's teaching creative writing at the College of New Rochelle and freshman comp and intro to ethnic studies at John Jay College. He's working on his first novel.
Be sure to show both these hermanos some love and respect as they join the VL familia. We are happy to have them.
