So please forgive us, we promise to make it up to all of our readers by continuing to bring you best in Latino news, opinion, culture, politica, and bochinche/chismes (and no more creepy naked gringos as pictured).
Psst….and don’t forget to vote for the Most Influential Latino 2006 in our poll.

Aw, yeah, here we go with some Celebrity Justice Latino style! Actress Stephanie Salas, Luis Miguel’s ex and mother of his daughter, Michelle, ain’t happy about him denying paternity. She’s so unhappy in fact that she’s thinking about to take “el Sol” to court:
“I have talked to him a few times, I’ve heard from him a few times, but he hasn’t been responsive, that’s the problem,” Salas explained on the ‘Don Francisco presenta’ (Univisión) program. “I think I have a right to do this, and no woman should stand for this. On the contrary. And it’s not because he’s such a famous figure. I don’t think any woman should stand for this under any circumstances.”
People en español reports that Luis Miguel visited the child, now 16, “in the first years of her life”. After that it seems he fell into being just another deadbeat dad.

Shakira, recently nominated for 7 MTV Music Awards, has moved the U.S. Latino community by dedicating the honors to Latinos in this country:
Shakira dedicated her seven MTV Video Music Awards nominations to the Latino community in the United States.“I too am one of them,” the 29-year-old singer said Thursday as part of her “Oral Fixation” world tour.
That’s sweet of Shaki, and I guess she means it in the “you are part of me” figurative sort of way, since she’s not from the U.S. I hope she hasn’t forgotten where she came from.
Speaking of which, if I were a fan excited about Shakira’s U.S. tour I’d be disappointed to hear that…
Shakira has been singing mostly in Spanish while touring Latin America but will switch largely to English when the U.S. leg of the tour opens Aug. 9 in El Paso, Texas.
No thanks. I miss classic pre-English Shakira.
