That’s what Wonkette and other bloggers are asking, though no one seems to be able to confirm the rumor:
Anyone who works at the State Deparment want to confirm the anonymous rumor we just heard that everyone’s freaking the fuck out re. the unverified death of Fidel Castro? To be more specific — we hear OAS heard rumors of said death and is, as of right now, unable to verify Castro’s whereabouts or hold on this mortal coil.
Probably just a rumor, but we’d love some details. Anyone got the scoop?
Meanwhile, Australia’s ABC’s The World Today is reporting that the U.S. government is sending 110 million dollars the way of anti-Castro activists. If he’s dead are they going to ask for their money back?

There has been no public appearance of Castro since the 1st of July in a communist party meeting and the last foto in Granma is one of 2001, decorating an old revolutionary heroine.
The guy could be just sick or plain dead. Time will say…
