That’s what Wonkette and other bloggers are asking, though no one seems to be able to confirm the rumor:
Anyone who works at the State Deparment want to confirm the anonymous rumor we just heard that everyone’s freaking the fuck out re. the unverified death of Fidel Castro? To be more specific — we hear OAS heard rumors of said death and is, as of right now, unable to verify Castro’s whereabouts or hold on this mortal coil.
Probably just a rumor, but we’d love some details. Anyone got the scoop?
Meanwhile, Australia’s ABC’s The World Today is reporting that the U.S. government is sending 110 million dollars the way of anti-Castro activists. If he’s dead are they going to ask for their money back?

On Monday, a Peruvian court found talk show host Laura Bozzo guilty of various corruption charges and sentenced her to four years in prison. La Bozzo, who already served a house arrest sentence of three years says she’s appealing and will sue the government of Peru before the Interamerican Civil Rights Court:
“There is a conspiracy against me”, she angrily told local television station Canal 9. “It’s been proven that the court reached an injust resolution, and that is why I am going to sue them before the Interamerican Court.” The talk show host is relying on a law of the Association of American States(OEA) according to which if there is a not a friendly agreement between two parties (in this case Bozzo and the Peruvian government) and it is found that a right has been violated, the Court can give a recommendation.”
According to People en Español, while Laura won’t actually be imprisoned, her sentence will force her to not leave her home without the prior authorization of a judge, and appear before a court every three months.

Sniff sniff and catch of a whiff of David Bisbal. According to Latin Gossip the Spanish singer is launching his own fragrancia. The Gossiper wrote:
David Bisbal just signed a lucrative deal with Idesa Parfums to develop and market a fragrance that will bear his name.
Idesa also markets a scent, Yekipé, for flamenco star Joaquín Cortés. This scent even won a Fifi Award from the Fragrance Foundation. Why do I have a feeling that David Bisbal’s scent may win a “fofo” award?

Estrellas in Mexico are making their opinions known one way or the other regarding the recent Mexican presidential election results. Filmmakers and actors alike are asking Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador to accept his loss and move on. Among those expressing such sentiments include filmmaker Gustavo Loza and Mexican TV host Alan Tacher (who?). According to QuePasa:
Loza, who represented Mexico during the past Academy Awards with his film “Al otro lado”, believes Mexico is undergoing a very worrisome period after the July 2 elections. “We are experienced the inexperienced in Mexico. I hope this reached a good end for everyone’s sake since the last thing we need is more marches and social outbreaks. Lopez-Obrador must accept triumphs and defeats”, he stated.
I think it’s great, one way or the other when celebs (however marginal) use their star power but doesn’t anyone care what the real working class Mexican thinks?
