Shakira at the World Cup: Lips Don’t Lie

10 Jul 2006You’re gonna tell me that the Colombiana Shakira wasn’t lip Lip synching (Wycleff too)? Shaki’s perfromance was set to be the highlight of the Copa Mundial closing ceremonies but the sound was so bad (at least on the Univision broadcast I was watching)and the stage in the middle of all of those sweeping stairs made the already tiny singer look even smaller. Even though I wasn’t down with either France or Italy, I watched the final game. Felicidades Italia who in my opinon should have automatically won after Zinédine Zidane decided that an Italian player’s chest was a good target for his head.

Not to mention that she’s hard to pick out because there are like 10,000 people on the stage with her. I wonder how much she got paid for those 5 minutes.

This is 100% lip sync action considering that I heard this exact version on the radio about two weeks ago. Even the yells and claps of the audience are “built in” the track. That’s one way of ensuring that you get a positive reaction. The other way? Singing well live.

Shakira didn’t sing live BECAUSE it is a soccer final, NOT a concert people… they are not allowed to sing LIVE HELLOOOO!!!… They’re not gonna waste money just for the artist to sing live… NONE OF THE PAST ARTIST have sang live… Ricky Martin, Anastacia, etc… IT’S ALWAYS PLAYBACK… EVEN IL DIVO had to do it… AND ALSO!!! Shakira is very very talented… she writes, plays, dances, produces her own music that is why she is so succesful world wide. She can shake it like no1 else, so quit it… Shakira was the best of that event, Pese a quien le pese

wow! the performance was way too good that i expected of. I was waiting for this performance since months..and hello! people have looooved her. Yes, at this stage you have to do nothing expect lip synching beacuase you can’t take the risk. She is great!

well im preaty sure she was forced to lyp……. il divo , toni braxton and elton john lip synch all the way too
