Xispas today that breaks down the myth of Aztlan and challenges the right wing pundits who like to instill fear by conjuring images of Mexicans and Chicanos taking over parts of the United States. Luis J. Rodriguez does an excellent job of putting Aztlan into a historical context that should be required reading for all, but especially for those who use Aztlan as a fear and race baiting tactic. Seriously someone needs to email this to Lou Dobbs.

I read the piece and thought he said it well. The sad thing is that none of those who think we’re trying to take over will actually read it.

AZTLAN IS A TERM THAR REFER TO THE MEXICAN-SPANISH AND INDIAN HERITAGE IN THE SOUTH WEST.
NOBODY IS TRYING TO TAKE OVER OR TO GET INDEPENDENCE.
AZTLAN IS A NATION WITHIN THE NATION, SO AZTLAN IS AMERICA AND AMERICA IS AZTLAN.

Aztlan is a Historical mythical place located where the Current standing states of TEXAS, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada are! The story or prophecy says that the land where the natives of Mexico once left a long time ago will return and rightfully reclaim the land for the people of Mexico.
