Teen Choice Has Latino Options

Sadly, I haven't been a teen for a long time now but this year's Teen Choice Awards, airing live for the first time on August 20th on FOX, has a few Latinos to choose from meaning I may have to pay attention. Some of the stars up for the coveted Teen Choice Surfboard include Eva Longoria against Alexis Bledel from Gilmore Girls in the catagory of Choice TV Actress: Comedy. Eva Longoria is also nominated in the category of Choice Hottie Award against Jessica Alba (who is also nominated in the Choice Movie Actress: Action/Drama Adventure for Fantastic Four.

But don't worry mujeres, there are hombres nominated as well. Wilmer Valderrama is nominated for Choice TV Actor for his role in That ‘70’s Show and his show Yo Mama is up for Choice TV Reality Show. Two Latinos face off in the catagory of Choice TV SideKick: Amuary Nolasco of Prison Break against Jorge Garcia of Lost.

The usual Latino suspects in music are represented. Daddy Yankee is nominated in the catagory of Choice Music: Male Artist and Shakira is nominated in two catgories Choice Music: Female Artist and Choice Music: Single for Hips Don’t Lie.

If you're a teen who wants to vote or know one who does, voting is on now through Friday, Aug. 11.
