Shakira hit: most played song in pop history

Shakira’s English-language hit “Hips Don’t Lie” became the most played song in pop history earlier this week, according to Nielsen. Via Top-40Charts.com:
“Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean became the most played song in pop radio history TODAY according to Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. The song was played more times in the week ending 6/4/06 beating out the previous record by Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” made in the week ending 6/5/05. Shakira’s song’s total of 9,657 times played on the radio, broke Stefani’s previous record of 9,582.
Now I realize why I am starting to hate this song. I really liked it at first, but like anything else, and as they say on beer commercials “nada con exceso…todo con medida“.
In addition to boasting the most played song in history, Shakira
…also recently became the first artist in the history of the charts to earn the coveted No 1 Top 40 Mainstream song and No 1 Latin song in the same week and still holds the No 1 spot on the Latin chart.
Quite an accomplishment.

I typically like Shakira’s upbeat tunes; especially ‘ojos asi.’
But something about this particular ‘hips’ song was a complete turn-off from the beginning.
I can’t stand the song and its played nearly every minute on the radio.
Only word word explains this : Payola

I love Shakira…(Yeah, Ojos Asi is awesome) and this song is what made me really notice her, honestly. I heard Whenever, Wherever, before this and liked it, but never found out who sang it for the longest time. And when I saw the music video of this song (which was amazing, I’m sure we can all agree) I wanted to see what else she’s done and was very impressed with what I found. Anyway, my point is, I think this song is really good (has a nice beat) but it led me to her older song, Ojos Asi, which is probably my favorite next to La Tortura.
And this is quite an accomplishment- the most played song in pop history thing is very impressive.

The most thing about Shakira is that when I hear her song, she could be it out and that I want to see her in Mark Twain Elementry at the End of The School at June 14,2007.and that I want to really see her badly.

I love Shakira all the time and that everytime my friends says that she is my girl, but I think they are jealous but I think she is kinda cute but her voice sounds nice and she sings very well with Beyonce and her video is the best at all and they should sell some of her great video and I like that to happen.

If Shakira has a computer I will like to know that If she gots a time off I would like to see her in my school and the school adress is 58 street Sac,Cal and to come in the End- Of-The-School-Year at June 14 Ithink and I will like to see her with my own eyes.And one more thing if I lke you thay means that I like a girl name Cynthia Averado and I think she kinda cute,but don’t tell her please.
