Nuestro Himno Live at Ellis Island

nuestro%20himno.jpgRemember Nuestro Himno? Of course you do. People were so riled up about the Spanish language version of the U.S. National Anthem that our site was flooded. Well it's back! Yesterday Tony Sunshine and members of Reggaeton Ninos performed the song live for the first time at Ellis Island. A video to accompany the song, which was actually translated many years ago, was also unveiled yesterday.

The performance at the once gateway for millions of immigrants into the U.S., marked the release of an album Somos Americanos which features Nuestro Himno and other songs about the Latino immigrant experience. Adam Kidron, the British president of Urban Box Office Inc., which produced the album, stated that

his company will donate a dollar from the sale of each album to the National Capital Immigration Coalition and the Latin War Veterans.
Anyone gonna protest that?

I love the song..I think it's great...The Latinos are finally showing that they like being in the US also...Now maybe everyone can stop saying we're only hear to mess up this country like we did Mexico...Mexico is not messed up at all...We're here for the better pay and education. I'm happy someone converted it to Spanish so that everyone can understand...How can someone be illegal in a country that sings..*For the land of the free*. We all belong here.

hola!! well im not fully latino, but i still love the spanish culture. i feel as if the country is being stingy to immigrants. if they are here to be free we should be proud. i think the reggaeton ninos y tony sunshine should keep on doing what they are doing.
