Ricky Martin, always the humanitarian (has he said anything about the Rican $$ crisis by the way?):
…taped three educational multimedia videos (each one in English, Spanish and Portuguese). The videos aim to provide minors, parents and teachers useful tools to protect themselves against sexual predators, identity theft, child pornography and violent content, among other risks in the Internet.
This is part of the Boricua entertainer’s role as Goodwill Ambassador to UNICEF. The project is being funded by Ricky’s own foundation and Microsoft Latin America.
The videos will be distributed via the internet and as a DVD distributed to Latin American children. Ricky said:
The three educational videos are a practical prevention tool to make the Internet a safer space for children. By educating parents, teachers and minors about the risks of the Internet, we can prevent abuses against children. The effort begins in Latin America, but our goal is to globalize it.
The pressence of child porn and internet predators targetting children continues to grow. I don’t know how much Ricky’s efforts will help, pero algo es algo.
