Would You Name Your Baby Lou?

loudobbbbsbabyWEB.jpgLatino satirists Lalo Alcaraz and Esteban Zul are at it again, announcing on their Los Angeles based radio show, the Pocho Hour of Power, the name your baby Lou Dobbs contest.

The first undocumented immigrant to name their U.S. born child “Lou Dobbs,” before September 16th , 2006, will win $500.00 worth of baby nursery items from participating East Los Angeles merchants supporting the Name Your Baby Lou Dobbs Challenge.

Some people of course are missing the point, like the right-wing online World Net Daily who stated:

Though the contest was announced April 26, there have been no illegal aliens who have tried to claim the prize.

No really? That’s because it’s a joke – a satire – a way to shed light upon current political issues using humor. According to the website of the Lalo Alcaraz and Esteban Zul:

Scapegoating minorities is an American tradition and a patriotic duty; just ask the patriots that tossed all that tea into Boston Harbor. Other acceptable nicknames for “Lou Dobbs” in the Name Your Baby Lou Dobbs Challenge are, Potato Head, Beaner Town Boogie Man and Y.T. Bashaspick.

That is so rude. Why would someone even play a joke that mean. Everyone needs to grow up and take a look around. There’s immigrants everywere. A guy that I went to school with is illegal, in fact everyone in his family is illegal except his younger sister. His family is not on welfare, they work hard for everything that they have. A lot of US citizens can’t say that. Most of the US citizens are on welfare being supported by my taxes…YES I’M LEGAL.
