Shakira, The Priest and The Nun

shakiratortura.jpgSo Shakira goes up to a priest and says…No, it’s not one of those lame priest and rabbi jokes, but a bit of chisme about Shakira’s asking a priest’s blessing before doing a sultry video:

The Colombian singer hunted a priest’s blessing before sharing a sweltering embrace with Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz for her most recent video ‘La Tortura,’ because she is in a serious and committed relationship with her fiance, Antonio De Le Rua, Argentina’s former president’s son.

And she’s about to get her ass whipped by one of the nuns at the Catholic school she attended because of her new sexy video, Don’t Bother:

Shakira’s sexy music video for her song ‘Don’t Bother,’ has infuriated a nun at the Catholic high school Shakira attended when she was young, according to a published report.

Shakira had a very strict religious upbringing and firmly states that she will never compromise her faith in efforts to sell music.

Shakira says, “One of the nuns is looking for me after seeing the Don’t Bother video.”

How about that new song where she has no problem being called a third world girl….somehow I don’t think she was trying to make a political statement.

For reals, Maegan. Not only is that song totally ridiculous and offensive, it’s awful.

My favorite part is “Shakira had a very strict religious upbringing and firmly states that she will never compromise her faith in efforts to sell music.” I only went to Catholic school for 2nd & 3rd grades…I wonder what grade they taught “ass-shaking”?

Why don’t you stop finding ways to criticize and insult women and start speculating on men’s behaviour instead.

Also, the whole of Latin America is supposed to be really Catholic, practically all the men don crucifixes and yet their image is incredibly notorious, violent and sexist- machismo and extremely likely to be married and have many a mistress!
So you guys are propagating double standards by persistently attacking females for behaviour that men get away with.

Misa, i totally agree. Let’s face it, Shakira’s an amazing dancer, she’s very sensual and passionate in her videos. She doesn’t shake her stuff and expose herself in a grose sexual way like some artists do, you can tell through her facial expression. I’ve never met her, but there’s something warm and touching about her personality. She seems balanced in her life and she’s not afraid to express her feelings through her music and dancing. I think that’s a very brave to do. She’s my role model on the dancing part!
