a167[1].jpg8:40: Best new artist…I KNEW IT…RBD. Like La Mala, I have no idea what their appeal is. They are just like Garibaldi.

8:45: Emilio Estefan (esta gordito) presenting an award for an artist whose career has spanned 30 years. Who is it? None other than Marco Antonio Solis. Standing ovation He looks like Jesus Christ, as usual, and as usual, thanks his look-alike. Singing a medley of his greatest hits. Very good performance, his voice is perfect. The cheeseball women behind him dancing are not. Also not okay was Ana Barbara and her new hubby Pirru (friends of Marco Antonio — he was at their recent wedding) hugging and singing along. Standing ovation.

8:49: The ads: MasterCard ad. Repeating World Cup Theme. Clothes ad…what is it? Music in Spanish but “mainstream” models…men and women flirting…what is this for??? JC Penney! Chevy truck ad set to a Spanish pop tune, nothing notable. Another cell phone ad…this time it’s not T Mobile but Verizon. Yeah, cell phone companies, tear each others’ eyes out for the Latino market!

Looks like the Daddy Yankee song was pre-taped. Production values, editing an improvement. Rompe is no Gasolina.

I didn’t think he was lip synching. But yeah Rompe isn’t as catchy as Gasolina

I personally preferred the “rrracata…rrracata”. That doesn´t make me a reggaeton fan, does it?
