smallforce.jpg Carlos Lugo Lorenzo, a 23 Puerto Rican college student at the University of Puerto Rico, assigned to the Engineering Battalion in Aguadilla is the latest person to publicly declare himself a conscientious objector and refuse to go to Iraq if he were to be called. He made the announcement during a rally held in front of an Army Recruitment Center in Rio Piedras held by the group Mothers Against the War. Lugo Lorenzo announced:

Carlos said the reasons the United States gave for the invasion of Iraq were a “farce” and were merely “justifications to take advantage of the natural resources Iraq has”.
