coffee.jpg If you’re like me, right now you are drinking a cup of coffee as you read this. Maybe you’re old school and make it in colador. Maybe you buy it from the local bodega or tiendita. Maybe you’ve joined the rank and file and stand on line at a chain and get a cup of coffee that costs so much it would make your abuelita faint. But do you think about where your coffee comes from? Women’s e News spotlights a collective of mujeres growing and harvesting coffee in Peru who :

have partnered with a U.S. import company to market their own brand of organic, fair-trade coffee. In addition to gaining more economic control, the women are finding their work is changing their culture as well.

Move over Starbuck’s.
