Living la Vida Artista
New York City based Latina sculptor Teresita Fernández was awarded a MacArthur Fellows Program grant of $500,000 over the next 5 years, “no strings attached”. Teresita's works ,which have been featured in galleries worldwide, use architecture, space, and color and invite viewers to experience her work instead of just seeing. Teresita was chosen, along with 24 other artists, because of her "creativity, originality, and potential".
She certainly has a substantial body of work and can serve as an inspiration to other Latino visual artists.
